What is the Metta Bed organic mattress made of?

The Metta Bed Organic mattress is made from the finest quality Organic Cotton, Organic Wool, and Organic Latex.

Organic Latex

The premium, GOLS certified organic latex used in the Metta organic mattress is 100% botanical and harvested from rubber trees by hand, using  sustainable practices. Organic latex is supportive, responsive and cool sleeping.

Organic Cotton

Metta Bed’s unbleached, GOTS certified organic cotton fabrics are made from the highest quality, Texas-grown, organic cotton fiber available, and are never chemically treated. The organic cotton quilting is naturally beautiful and breathable, while also being durable.

Organic Wool

The GOTS certified organic wool used within the quilted cover of the Metta Bed is sourced from New Zealand, where family farmers adhere to strict standards in order to assure the certified purity of their fibers. Organic wool naturally wicks moisture away from the body during sleep, promoting airflow to help you stay cool. This wool layer also acts as a natural flame barrier in place of toxic fire retardant chemicals.

How can I customize my firmness level?

• With the Metta Bed, you can choose from 3  firmness options soft (extra soft over soft latex), medium (soft over medium latex), or firm (medium over medium latex).

What is the 90 day latex exchange?

• With Metta Bed you can exchange one layer of latex, at no cost to you, within 90 days to find the most comfortable combination for you.

What is the warranty?

• Metta Bed offers a 20 year warranty.

Global Organic Latex Standard (GOLS)

The latex cores used in the production of our mattresses and bedding are certified organic to the Global Organic Latex Standard (GOLS). This standard was developed to ensure the integrity of the supply chain for natural rubber latex sap produced and harvested on USDA certified organic plantations. The standard also ensures that latex cores be no less than 95% pure natural rubber latex by composition.

Materials and products displaying the GOLS label are produced under the watchful eye of independent organizations who regularly audit farmers and producers to ensure strict compliance with the GOLS standard, from sap production and harvesting, to core forming and all the way through to final production of complex latex products, such as mattresses.

Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS)

The cotton and wool fibers, fabrics and threads used in our mattresses, foundations and bedding, as well as kitchen, bath, baby and other products displaying the GOTS seal are certified organic to the Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS). The aim of this stringent standard is to define requirements that ensure the organic status of textiles in order to ultimately provide credible organic assurance to you – the end customer.
