• This mattress does not have a quilted cover and does not contain wool.  The latex is encased in one layer of organic cotton.

Do you have organic certifications?

• We have certifications for our organic cotton and organic wool.  As of now, there is no organic certification for natural latex, however, we are proud to post the results of extensive independent laboratory testing of our Dunlop latex for purity. We also have required our Talalay supplier to certify that no synthetic chemicals are added to the Talalay we use.

• Natural Dunlop latex: 

  • Independent Test Results This test shows that all the latex is natural; no synthetic latex is used.  It also shows the test results of the latex for many common VOC's (volatile organic compounds).
  • Oeko-tex certificate This certificate and additional documentation specifies that our latex meets the strict Oeko-tex guidelines for natural rubber, that it is formaldehyde free, flame retardant free, and that it has been tested and does not contain other toxic chemicals.

• Natural Talalay latex

 

When your organic mattress arrives: Your natural latex mattress arrives in boxes — usually one layer of latex per box and one box for the casing. The latex is all labeled soft, medium or firm. We start with an organic mattress casing made of organic cotton. Lay out the casing on your bed. Remove the zipper cover. Place the latex inside. At first it will look like the casing is too small. It's made that way so the finished natural latex mattress is properly tailored. You can move the latex around and squish it a bit, but it will fit. Normally you will want to place the firmer layers of latex on the bottom and softer on the top. Zip the cover back on the top. Your organic mattress is designed this way so you can remove the top have it cleaned (eco dry clean only- click here to find an eco dry cleaner).
